Why Python Programming?

STEM education is very important for children however it is not enough a world that will be digitalized where almost everything is going to be controlled by a computer program. To better prepare your child for future careers of evolving generations it is important to learn how to develop these programs. For this it is important to learn the programming languages which are many. A focus on leading programming languages leads us to PYTHON, the leading programming language of the future.

  • Digital Footprint

According to the National Academy of Engineers (Gold Standard), the computer science enrollment has jumped 350% from the year 2006 and current data suggests that employers are still not able to find highly skilled computer programmers. One report mentions owing to many smart devices that are penetrating the global market, the data collected during the last 3-4 years surpasses the data collected from1960-2015. Even the smallest knowledge will be transformed into some form of digital footprint.

  • New Oil - Enormous Dataset

In today’s world data is a new Oil as it contains information that is yet to be discovered. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is considered one of the upcoming technologies that has the potential to extract useful information from the data. However, finding useful information in the data is still at its infancy stage and we need to prepare our kids with programming skills so that they are ready to utilize and extract information from these vast datasets that are ever-growing to build innovative products that can better the lives of human beings.

  • Big Tech

The White House report acknowledges that kids should be able to learn problem-solving skills at a young age and every learner should be able to evaluate information, break down problems, and develop a solution through the appropriate use of available technologies. Big tech- Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, and Google have invested millions of dollars to add programming into the K-12 curriculum.

FAQ

  • So what is a program?

It is a step-by-step instruction which tells the computer what to do. We are surrounded by a computer program and every digital screen is controlled by the computer program. For example, when you type a message on your smartphone when you play a game on your computer when you call a friend from your smart mobile phone when you press the remote of your smart TV, even dishwasher and washing machine cycles are the programming instructions. So where I can write such instructions to build a program? There are hundreds of programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, PHP, C, C++, C# (C Sharp), SQL, MATLAB, and many more. According to worldwide jobs on Indeed.com, Python was the top programming language recruiters were posting job listings in the year 2020.

  • Why Python became the first choice to learn programming ?

To say the least, Intel, IBM, NASA, Pixar, JP Morgan Chase, and of course Google uses Python in their daily needs of research and development. Google’s YouTube is largely written in Python so are Reddit, Pinterest, Instagram, and many Fortune 500 companies. But, Python is not becoming the first choice because these giants are utilizing it, but because it is an easy-to-use programming language. It is like learning words to write a sentence and then a storybook as Python provides a rich library of functions (like words) that are available to programmers (like writers) to build something unimaginable (like creating a Novel).

  • Who should take this course?

This course is suggested for 7th - 12th grade students. There is no age limit to learning. Python is very applied and so it is beneficial for all.
